Terms of Service
Last updated: September 12, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of My Judges Portal (the “Portal”), operated by MaD Development, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Portal, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Portal.
1. What the Portal is
The Portal is software that helps a speech & debate program organize judges: collecting a judging survey, coordinating tournament sign-ups, tracking judging service, recording ballots, and communicating with judges by email. We provide and maintain the software. Each program is responsible for how it runs its own judge pool — who it invites, what it asks them, what it tells them, and what it does with the results. We may add, change, or discontinue features.
2. Who these Terms apply to
Judges, parents and volunteers use the Portal at no charge. Programs (schools, teams, and their coaches) use it under a separate agreement with us, which governs any fees, terms, and cancellation. Nothing in these Terms creates a fee obligation for an individual judge or parent.
3. Eligibility & accounts
The Portal is intended for adults serving as judges, and for program coaches and administrators. Judges sign in with a one-time link sent to their email — there is no password to remember. Keep your sign-in link private; anyone with your link can access your account. Coaches and administrators sign in with a password and are responsible for keeping it secret. Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been accessed without permission.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to provide accurate information and to use the Portal only for its intended purpose. You agree not to: access accounts or data that are not yours; attempt to reach another program’s data; interfere with or disrupt the Portal; probe, scan, or bypass its security; scrape or harvest data; upload malicious files; or use the Portal to send spam or unlawful content.
5. Your content
You are responsible for the information you enter, including student names and messages. By entering a student’s name, you confirm you are that student’s parent, guardian, or an adult authorized to act as their designated judge. Programs are responsible for the content they publish through the Portal — including their logo, colors, linked resources, and the text of emails they send — and confirm they have the right to use it. You grant us permission to use the information you provide solely to operate the Portal as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Email
The Portal sends operational email: sign-in links, sign-up requests for tournaments, reminders about commitments you have made, and notices from your program. These are part of the service rather than marketing. Recruiting and invitation emails include an unsubscribe link, and we honor unsubscribes and bounces automatically.
7. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or end access for anyone who violates these Terms or puts the Portal or its users at risk. A program may stop using the Portal at any time; when its account closes, its data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. You may ask for your own information to be deleted at any time.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Portal is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Portal will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any tournament staffing outcome will be achieved. Judging assignments, tournament rules, and eligibility are determined by programs, leagues, and tournament hosts — not by us.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MaD Development, LLC and its members will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of the Portal. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Portal will not exceed the greater of one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100) or the amount paid to us for the Portal in the twelve months before the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MaD Development, LLC from any claims or expenses arising out of your misuse of the Portal, the content you enter, or your violation of these Terms.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Portal after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to the Portal will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California.
